Claude ban and appeal data report (2026-W42)
Short answer: We collected 67 relevant posts this week across 4 categories (ban reasons, appeal results, signup, official channels). 22 were about bans, most often "unclear / possibly mistaken" (10); among posts naming a cause, "content / usage policy" led (8). Of 20 appeal posts, 12 reported success, 5 failure and 3 were unclear (71% success among clear outcomes). That's far above Anthropic's official overturn ratio of about 10.6% for H1 2026, because people who win are more likely to post. It is not a real success rate. The most-mentioned channels were Microsoft 365 Copilot (3), GitHub Copilot (3), Amazon Bedrock (1), all official or legitimate integrations.
About this data: Everything here comes from self-reported public posts on X. It's unverified and heavily skewed (angry or successful users post more), and keyword classification can be wrong. My 3+ year-old Claude account was suspended three days ago, despite being part of Claude for Open Source.
My appeal was rejected without explanation.
