Short answer: Anthropic doesn't get decline reasons from banks, so check these first: your billing address must match the card's country of origin, that country must be a supported billing location, and the address must match your bank's records. Web subscriptions take credit and debit cards only (no PayPal or Venmo). If it still fails, Anthropic suggests another card, retrying later or calling your bank. 1/4 Why does Claude's checkout list China as a billing country with no visible eligibility warning at that step, though mainland China is unsupported? I used Claude for ~3 years, paid $125 for Max; my account was suspended and my appeal denied. @AnthropicAI, can you clarify?
